Airway Management

As the world leader in airway management products, Tyco Healthcare gives healthcare providers the assurance of proven technology, by offering top brands in the industry. Our unmatched selection of products includes MALLINCKRODT* Tracheal Tubes, SHILEY* Tracheostomy Tubes and accessories.

MALLINCKRODT* Tracheal Tubes

We offer a wide range of disposable tracheal tubes for the intubation of all patients in any setting. All tubes feature atraumatic tip design and cuffs designed to minimise tracheal damage. The range includes basic cuffed and uncuffed tubes plus the popular RAE* preformed tubes and speciality tubes such as the LASER-FLEX* for laser surgery of the upper airway and SAFETY-FLEX* reinforced tubes.

MALLINCKRODT* BRONCHO-CATH* Endobronchial Tubes

Our endobronchial tubes are double lumen tubes for use when independent ventilation of the lungs is required. Available in both left and right-sided versions, our endobronchial tubes features colour coded cuffs allowing easy confirmation of correct placement by bronchoscopy and specially shaped cuffs allowing a greater margin of error in the placement of the tube.

BRANDT* Tracheal Tubes

Extensive clinical studies have shown that during general anaesthesia, nitrous oxide diffuses into any air-filled tracheal tube cuff. This patented system has been developed specifically to overcome, in a very simple and cost-effective way, the problems associated with nitrous oxide diffusion.

CONNELL* Airway

This is a nasopharyngeal airway that features the ability to detect CO2 and deliver supplemental oxygen for spontaneously breathing patients receiving intravenous anesthesia. Inserted into the patients nostril in the same way as a standard nasopharyngeal airway this device will provide airway support and facilitates the monitoring and delivery of gases in deep sedation and light anesthesia techniques involving spontaneously breathing patients undergoing brief procedures under intravenous anesthesia. The two narrow tubes incorporated into the main lumen are used for administration of O2 (green tube) and detection of exhaled carbon dioxide (transparent tube).

COMBITUBE* – Oesophageal/Tracheal Double Lumen Airway

Designed to establish an airway in difficult and emergency situations. Achieve rapid intubation and effective ventilation during all emergency situations. Ideal for all areas of the hospital and pre-hospital care for emergency airway management, including 'crash trolleys', Theatres, Obstetrics and the Operating Theatre.

SHILEY* Tracheostomy Tubes

These are widely regarded as the "gold standard" in disposable long term tracheostomy tubes. Availability in adult, paediatric and neonatal sizes, cuffed, uncuffed and single or double cannula versions means a suitable tube can be found for any patient. Low pressure cuffs minimise tracheal trauma.

MALLINCKRODT* TRACHEOSOFT* Tracheostomy products

Our range includes a wide variety of single lumen short-term tracheostomy tubes. Available in standard and reinforced versions, all are manufactured from soft, thermosensitive PVC and have atraumatic cuffs and tips. Also in the available is the XLT, with proximal or distal extensions to suit atypical tracheal anatomy.

TLT* - Translaryngeal Tracheostomy

Innovative, retrograde percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy technique (Fantoni technique). Ideal for patients with coagulation impairment. The self-dialating tracheostomy tube creates an optimum fit stoma minimising the risk of infection and bleeding.

EVAC* Tracheal and Tracheostomy Tubes with Aspiration System

These tracheal and tracheostomy tubes have an additional lumen integrated into the tube wall ending in a dorsal opening proximal to the cuff. This is used for evacuation or drainage of secretions that may have accumulated in the subglottic space. This has been shown to reduce the incidence of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP). The Aspiration System once attached to the lumen allows for continuous aspiration or intermittent suctioning of these secretions.
